It started out "I want a baby again". So began our journey looking for that healthy, happy baby. But with that usually comes a BIG $! I hate to put a "price" on a childs life BUT we are not wealthy and don't know anyone who is =0)
So someone mentioned special needs - "Oh no I CAN'T do that" was my response. But something (Someone so much bigger them me!) told me to check into it - really what would it hurt. In talking to WACAP & people who have adopted "special needs" sometimes those special needs are not really a big deal in the US. So brings us to today considering microcephaly & cerebral palsy who'd of thunk =0)
Why International?
Because of these statistics - how can I stand before God knowing these and tell Him "Well what could I do?"
Everyday 5,760 more children become orphans
Every Year over 2 million children become orphans in Africa
Every Year over almost 40,000 orphans "age out"
In Russia and the Ukraine:
10 -15% of children who age out of the orphanage commit suicide before 18
60% of girls are lured into Prositution
70% of boys become hardened criminals
Some are sold into slavery
Millions of girls are S*x slaves
