Update on "I".

I have had a lot of people ask about "I" and I have ignored a lot pf people when they asked. It hurts sometimes. It hurts when you think life should go in one direction and it goes in another.

My husband wanted to accomplish a few things before we officially set out to adopt him....or anyone for that matter. We are close to what he wanted to accomplish and I went to check the waiting child list and "I" was gone. Gone. There had been talk of him switching to another orphanage....an orphanage closed to adoption.  So immediately I hoped that was not the case. I know ALL orphans deserve a home but some of them manage to pull on heart strings more then others for some reason. THIS boy I needed to hear he was in a family and not in a closed orphanage.

So I shot an email.....to get the news that he was in fact GOING TO BE IN A FAMILY :) And my heart is so happy for him :) So happy. Rumor has it he will be in the US.

Maybe our place wasn't to have him in our home. Maybe our place was to pray him into HIS home :) Maybe our place was to pray for his adjustment into his new home (I thought I was praying for his adjustment into our home ;))

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SO if an internet search brings his family across this blog PLEASE let us know how he is doing when he gets home. If you have a blog PLEASE share it with us :)

"I" is 7. His Bday is Sept! And he is expected home sometime this year!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So we as a family will continue to wait until God opens the next door officially for us :)

Once you decide to Adopt.......

.....the following may happen. In no particular order.

  • New Washer will break.
  • New Dryer will break.
  • Bye Bye Dishwasher.
  • The ac in your vehicle stops, in the hottest days of summer.
  • When you turn corners (in said van with no ac) there is a clicking sound that really does not sound healthy. Your pretty sure you just had the same thing replaced on the right side and now it's on the left.
And you sit and wonder what is next.

It isn't that the enemy is attacking you ... it is that by helping the orphans we are going behind enemy lines... we are attacking the enemy and he is simply defending his territory.

found that quote on this blog :)

For Him.

We went and bought a car seat for when my Niece is over. Those things are a pain to get in and out of cars ya know! But we went with blue.......for #5. But don't tell her she thinks it's hers ;)

Faith and My New Bag.

My faith is SO small it must make God laugh. I mean He has gotten us this far? Why do I doubt :)

So last week a Mom adopting from the same orphanage contacted me and was excited that "I" was matched with us. WHAT? We aren't matched. Which sent me into PRAYER mode for "I". If he's ours let this be wrong news. If he isn't ours and this news is true let me PLEASE be okay with it. And my Mama's heart hurt. I was NOT ready to let him go!! Through a few emails I was beginning to think we were in fact talking about 2 different boys. She apologized for scaring me and that we needed to hear from our agency and see what they say. So that we would know for sure :)

So we waited. And waited through the weekend, an in the process adoptive parents worst night mare!! THE DREADED WE WILL GET NO NEWS weekend LOL!!!!

Yesterday a couple friends and I hit the thrift stores and this bag caught my eye. Honestly I have a bag sickness ;) The FIRST thing that I thought was "this would make a nice carry on to India". I left it there. We shopped and shopped and shopped. I went back for the bag and my heart sank when I couldn't find it again. THEN there is was! I picked it up. My friend "Oooh I like! Whatcha need that for?" I said "My trip to India" :) But felt really weird saying it know we still had NO official word on "I" OR even approval from wacap.

So we get home wash up the bag and I wonder "Will we go to India again?" And I put it aside.

Then this morning I wake up to an email form wacap.......Ashraya says he is NOT matched that they are aware AND wacap said YES!!!! WOOHOO God!!!!!!!

Which leads me to our next "I need God to talk to us" We have differing opinions on how to pay for the home study :) I say taxes, he says God. And that my friends is REALLY hard for me. To leave it ALL up to Him. Can He do it? YES. Without a question. But I have this nagging fear. He does it for OTHER people and not us. Hubby says that God will only honor our request... providing they are IN His will.....if we pay down our debts. With taxes all we would have left is van payment. That's it. BUT no $ for the home study. Hubby want God to do it. Pay for it all. For God to get ALL the glory. For this to be SO GOD!!!

Can He do it? Yes I believe with out question He can.

Mark 9:24
And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief.

I just want to wait and when He supplies the money I will send those checks LOL!!! I suppose faith doesn't really work like that though huh?

Right now my Momma gut says HE will come home. How? When? Those are questions I don't have answers for. But Praise the Lord I know who does!!!

Thinking Back and Thinking Ahead.

For some reason the past few days it has really hit me that there is a chance we will lose "I". I mean if you request the WACAP photo album, he is in there. He is still considered waiting no matter how much I want to go and get him.

A good friend reminded this week of the times we thought we had lost #4 and how through it all she was ALWAYS ours. Ups and Downs of families interested in her. Another Family was having "On Hold" papers typed up for them. That is pretty far in the process. And yet it never worked for them. And she waited. Just waited for us.

I have to remind myself sometimes that He has the control. All of it. And that if "I" is ours NO ONE on earth can change that! No one.

But I am Human and sometimes I worry. Worry that we aren't going to get started soon enough and we will loose him. And my heart aches for him.

Even with saying all of that....deep in my heart I feel for him exactly how I felt for her :)

Birthday!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Sweet Boy "I"......
We're working toward getting you home!

Sunday, September 06, 2009

Just so you know :)

I just feel the need to clarify about my post the other day about "I".

I had one of those days at church where I felt like everyone was "talking" about me :)

Sunday School: Joseph and how long he had to wait from being sold to saving his family from the famine. Our time line is NOT God's!

Sunday Morning Service was about how important it is to find God's Will. Not to make our plans THEN 1. ask God to bless them or 2. not even ask Him.

Afternoon Sunday School: The children of Israel wanted a King soooo badly and God finally granted that request only because they wanted it so badly but it wasn't His Will. It is important for us that we aren't begging God for something He doesn't want to give us!

So I feel the need to clarify that we at this point feel it is God's will for him to come here and be a part of our family. Until God closes that door that is the path we are on :)

Just me Doing some Whining.......

It has been months since we decided to adopt "I". I'm sure there is a reason why our adoptions take so long to "get off the ground".....but that doesn't help little Ms Impatient at all!!

I'm ready to be in Process...ready to be doing something....ya know till that huge stack of papers come in the mail LOL!!

I hate that everyday he just ages and ages!

Birthday Tickers from WiddlyTinks.com

So I am going to Fast and Pray for him once a week. Him specifically to come home! Home to us :) I am praying for God to provide funds in a way only He can. A way that gives Him complete glory! I can NOT, we can NOT do this on our own it has to come from HIM and only HIM :)

This....See "I" needs a Family! He is the kid that has no photo album to look at. He doesn't know that someone across the ocean is already in love with him. Someone is already planning a room for him, clothes for him and saving a seat in the van for him :)

It continues to get harder and harder to see other adoptions start after you feel "called" and end before you even get the chance to start :(

Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:4-5

MOVE I tell ya!!

Mark 11:23 KJV.....For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Where we are with #5......

......we are expecting his file this week so we can share it with our doctor. :)

***Update: we got it and it is only 12 pages long :( He really hasn't been there for long. His "issue" is being delayed.......we will continue until the door closes on us!

Thinking.

Do not hold it against her that she has a Detroit Jersey on......that is her Grandpa 100% ;) Love ya Dad!

I'm thinking about fundraisers today?

Have you done one? Did it go well?

I've also consider becoming a Usborne Book Consultant and anything made would go straight to the adoption. Hmmm still thinking on that one :)

For #4's adoption we had a garage sale and raised about $1500. We got a small loan. The rest (for travel) was borrowed from WACAP. But that with the Promise Children Funding is gone. AND technically we still owe them that.

ANYHOW. I've tried. I've tried to convince myself that we are in fact not supposed to try to adopt "I"..........but I can't do it. I'm not ready to say he isn't ours. All of my feelings for him came rushing back after seeing THIS....
........I really think he is. We have one more month before we can officially adopt #4. So we are getting to the point to need the funds for the updated home study. Which is verbally approved :) One less thing to "worry" about.

2 Things this morning :)

First things first........Good Bye 3......HELLO 4!!! We have a 4 yr old this morning!!!!!!!! We are having a "party" for her, and her brother who turns 11 on Sunday, tomorrow night. Great Grandparents are making the trip this morning, grandparents, aunt, uncle and cousin too :)

Makes me wonder about that day. About her birth. About her first Mom. Her birth Mom. What was she thinking as she dropped her off "somewhere". I thank God for keeping her safe. I thank her first Mom for choosing life.

Then I thought I would share what God "said" to me yesterday :)......The kids and I have been listening through the Bible on cd and we are behind (those weekends really get us!) Anyhow yesterday we were listening to Philippians:

4Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.
5Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand.
6Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
7And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
9Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.

I love those verses and needed to be reminded of them yesterday.

THEN we go to Wednesday Evening Church and have a guest speaker. Guess what book he preached from..........Philippians :) Exact Same Verses!!! He says, "If I would name this sermon I would call it "JESUS DOES IT AGAIN"

OK I HEAR :)

But just in case I needed any more clarification......one of my bestest friends sent me this:
Faith sees the invisible, believes the impossible, receives the incredible...No matter what was...Faith moves the unmoveable, proves the unprovable, for anyone willing to trust....believe and you'll see what Faith Does....

Facing our Giant.

I'm not going to lie. Right now. Today. Having a 5th child seems SO very impossible.

THEN

God lead me HERE.

The reason I think I get so addicted to blogs is reading other families stories. Families who don't make 6 figures. Families who like us just want to build our families through adoption. People who believe God will supply there every need.

And ya know what.......He does. He will.

Preparing for rain! I love that!

Storms.

Stop telling God how big your storm is -
Instead tell your storm how big your GOD is.
--- unknown

Matthew 19:26 (King James Version)

26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Jeremiah 32:27 - Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh: Is there anything to hard for me?

Hubby says we aren't finished :) He said we move until the door closes. This did not surprise God at all. He is not sitting in heaven "well now how are they going to get him home?".......in that we have peace. And any money we may "loose" in the process was not ours to begin with it was His.

Into my whiney World.

A sneak peak into my world. The issues running around.

#4's adoption was funded I would say 70% by WACAP's Promise Children program. The little boy we are interested in his adoption would have been paid 40% with a similar program. Well due to the economic issues, funding has been pulled for both programs.

So #5's adoption will be in the $20,000 range.

Well that is $10,000 more then we were "expecting".........

So were we wrong in feeling called to him?
Is He shutting the door?
Does He want us to step out in faith and do it even though it seems so hard?

When we started we asked for Ashraya's for permission.......we assumed the door would close. It swung open.

When we prayed for the application fee.......the door swung open.

What's your take?

Tuesday, March 31, 2009

To answer a question.....

......no "he" is not technically on hold for us :( He is free for anyone interested.

BUT

One thing I DID learn with our first adoption is if he is "ours" he is ours and NO ONE can get to him with out God's permission :) We lost #4 3 times during our process. One family was to the point of having "on hold" papers being typed up. What happened I don't know but God held her for us and I am confident He will do the same for him.............if in fact I am correct in saying "he's ours" ;)
And if I am wrong.....we will find the son intended to be ours and I will be his prayer Mama forever!!!!

Moved in....

......and settled :) Yeah!!! It is so nice to have her back!!!!

Other then that we have been in the garden!! Enjoying the semi nice weather when we can :) We have the dirt in. We are just waiting for the weather to get spring like so we can plant! Our starters are out growing there cups lol!!!!

#4 continue to amaze us almost everyday. She is funny. She loves to have people laugh. Last night her and I chased each other around the table while we were growling at each other :) She seems more and more interested in animals. We have temporary custody of my sister's cat and she enjoys having a "meow meow" at the house. I don't think the cat feels the same way about her though.

Her new love is church. We pass by it occasionally while running errands and she screams "CHURCH CHURCH". So I think she likes it there lol!

Adoption #2.......we are waiting for 2 things to officially start: 1. we need to hit the 6 month mark of #4's Home coming. 2. we need the funds to come in to have the home study updated :)
His Timing. His will.
